It's not quite as good.  The Premier Art Smooth BW has a mid-1.60's dmax, and the Arches is mid-to-high 1.50's.  One of the images in my office and at the Santa Barbara show, however, is my Disney Concert Hall (#1) (see http://paulroark.com/Disney-1.jpg) which is very dependent on a good black.  It looks fine on Arches.

Legion Paper West (I think) at one time had small sheets of some Arches, but I just buy full sheets (22.4 x 30) at Dick Blick and cut it.
