Re: [Digital BW] Shameless plug -- Santa Barbara Gallery show

Paul,

Tough for me to comment on much as I don’t think the display was ready. The
gallery lights were not on. I was just impressed with the smoothness
and sharpness of the images. The images alone stood on their own. The few
small carbon prints I had see before looked pretty flat. I had seen some
of your work is Los Olivos ( have no idea how they were printed) but none
were the size, or as stunning as these. I do think the Acrylic added more
than it took away. Again hard to say without the gallery lights.

Relative to others comments I do think were a tad on the warm side but I
liked the what I saw.

I don't think it's going to be set up until just before Thursday, October 1.
The real target is the "First Thursday" art walk evening that Santa Barbara
regularly has.

Thank you. (Though I was a bit unhappy with my alternative acrylic supplier
delivering a "non-glare" piece for the Big Dipper shot. I think it actually
interferes with seeing the rather dark, nighttime print, but there is no
time to change it now.)

The first results of sophisticated third party fade testing ought to be out
mid-October. It'll be interesting to see how 100% Eboni carbon does in the
test.

I'm sorry I was not there to meet you. I'll be at the gallery (1029 State
Street, Santa Barbara, CA) for the "First Thursday" receptions, 5 - 8 pm
Oct. 1 and Nov. 5.
