Hi Sarah,

I'd go for Lightroom, certainly if you take a lot of photographs. It 
really does almost everything photographers generally need and I think 
can give you a better organised and more intuitive workflow.And each 
major release has improved it considerably, while with PS since PS7 I've 
felt they are more about making $s for Adobe and improvements have been 
minor..

I still use PS for a few things, mainly some of the plug-ins I have - 
for noise reduction, distortion correction and a few other things when 
necessary. I also print from PS and a few other things. But none of 
these needs CS4.

But if you are the kind of photographer who wants (and has the time) to 
spend hours working on each photo and just loves those huge files with 
lots of layers than PS4 is probably for you!

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
