Mike, For inexpensive matt paper you might want to try Red River paper, Aurora Fine Art Natural. The blacks are not as good as HPR but makes a good testing paper and gives very useable results. I think they have sample packs available. Hi, I am an amateur photographer. I have been using low end Epson printers with MIS ink for around 5 years. I have been using Kirkland glossy photo paper - it is very inexpensive and gives good results. I am thinking of moving to a new printer and Piezography inks. For the lower priced set ups I don't think these inks support glossy paper. The question is, what is a good inexpensive matt (or luster?) paper I can use?
