Re: [Digital BW] Dedicated B&W printer - Epson 1400 or 2200

2009-12-31 by Jorge Gaj

Jesse,

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The bottom line is that I want to use one of the printers for B&W printing and the other one for color. The color printer wont be used as much as the B&W. It appears that many folks are using the 1400 since it is a newer model. I have seen many posting at QTR on the 2200. It seems that it was very popular until the 2400 came out.

Do you use QTR and what are your favorite papers to print B&W pics.

Thanks,

 Regards from Sacramento,

Jorge

I can't offer a 1400 opinion but I do have a 2200 with piezography inks and refillable carts. Like Eddie says about the 1400, almost no problems with my 2200 setup. Had initial hesitation about the hassle, but now a convert. I don't even use it that often (couple times a month), but despite the light usage see almost no clogging. Any issues and a cleaning cycle deals with it, i've found. Easy stuff.

Maybe a deciding factor is, how you want to use the *other* of the two printers.
