With this new setup, I've found for each paper I like to make 2 profiles with QTR. One is with the 100% Eboni inks, and the other is with the HP-PK inks used as the midtones, making a neutral-cool profile. Then when I print I can use the sliders to blend the tones as needed, including split tones or even ones. The linked graph shows the tones of Arches BW with a 50-50 blend of Eboni and HPPK: http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Arches-EbHP-tones.jpg It makes a very neutral image on a somewhat creamy paper. By the way, I might add that this un-coated paper rarely as the flaking issues of the coated ones. It also spots very easily, being made for watercoloring. I tend to use a lighter shade of the ink with either a very small brush of round toothpick.
