Digital BW, The Print

Paul,

Thank you very much for your prompt response.  Since I'm getting back to photography maybe it is best for me to get started with the UT-14 inkset. Maybe, later on, I can experiment with other inksets.

As I unpack the new 1400 and install the software, can I wait and insert the new UT-14 cartridges, or do I first need to insert the color cartridges, initilize the printer and the insert the B&W cartridges?

MIS PK, LK and some other warm MIS glossy compatible inks are also 100% carbon, but they are usually used as channels in variable tone inksets and not sold as complete inksets in and of themselves -- but they could be.

MIS wants to be sure customers are coming from this list and have read my PDFs so they understand the characteristics of this inkset. The UT14 is often more suitable for beginning B&W printers.

One channel is warm carbon, the other cool blended inks. All neutral or cool inks are blended. We have no totally neutral 100% carbon pigment.

QuadToneRip can do it.

I doubt the MIS Eboni cart chip will be compatible with the other OEM chips. I use Eboni with MIS colors in a 260.

UT14 is more flexible in terms of paper types and print tones.
