I neglected to say that PrintShield imparts no gloss... so as far I can tell there is nothing visible that interferes with the depth of the matte image I find appealing. The photo looks no different.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
