Digital BW, The Print

Hi everyone and thanks up front for any help.
I live in Singapore, and have recently bought an Epson tx210 all-in-one.
4 inks, OEM ink is epson code 73n

I want to start experimenting with this printer as a dedicated black and white photo printer before I drop any money on an expensive unit, but I am very confused about ink sets and icc profiles. 

So many epson printer codes, from so many epochs.... I can't sift through it!

Can someone tell me: what is a good, reasonable set of inks to use, and set me straight in icc profile.
What is the short list of what I need?
And to make the icc profiles, are the johnroarke.com instructions from 200X still useful, or is there another way to go? Better way? Easier way?

(Looking for an neutral B&W or maybe selenium, but I'm not too particular as I am just trying to get this off the ground and I'll then learn as I go.)
