Re: Epson K3 Magenta ink

2010-04-05 by zz_ir

Thanks for the answers. I figured the "vivid magenta" was exclusive to the x880 series, but thought I would ask.

The strange thing about this is that I have installed new LM and M carts at the same time before, but have not experieced this degree of shift before. It really took me back.

I have started doing test prints to get back to a neutral black, but it is slow going. So far, I have tried lowering the horizontal and lowering the vertical in different values, but still haven't gotten rid of the magenta cast. My basis for starting everything was Clayton's article on proofing on EEM with Velvet Fine Art as the paper type. The paper I want to make my final prints on is also Velver Fine art.

Time for more testing.

Up until today, I have been able to achieve very neutral blacks with the K3 inks and ABW on my 2400, but know, it looks like I have a huge amount of work to do to figure out new settings to use to get back to neutral blacks.
