One of the first and best tricks is to put Windex on the parking pad and let the printer sit overnight with the head in that Windex. With the 2200 you can open the lid and reach the white gear over at the left. Pull the top of that toward you to release the lock on the head assembly. Now you can pull the head to the left to get at the parking pads.
While the head is freed up, you can also use some binding tape or other narrow strip of cloth or paper, soak it in Windex, lay it in the printer where the head goes over it, and then grab the ends of the bias tape and pull it back and forth across the underside of the head to clean off junk that might be caught on the surface of the head.
(If you're using third party inks, be sure the air inlets on the carts are opened.)
If all of the above fails, you can also buy cleaning carts.
