Wired behavior

I print UT14 on a Mac with the latest QTR. Printing QTR with IGFS curves on luster paper, blacks are ok, excellent. But printing QTR to matte paper with the EEM curves leads to washed blacks...Then I print to matte with Paul's curves and blacks are excellent again... Any explanations?
