PK and MD definitions

2011-06-29 by RodB

I assume PK is photo carbon black for glossy type papers and MK is carbon black for matte type papers. I am using Eboni 6 inks in my Epson 1400.

Is that correct.

Also does anyone know how to remove ICC profiles so they don't show in Lightroom 3?

Sorry for these simple questions but this forum uses many abbreviations which are sometimes difficult to understand when one is just starting to print in B&W or use Quadtone Rip (QTR).

PK is photo black, MK is matte black. This terminology is generic rather
than specific to carbon blacks - its how Epson identifies the two blacks
in their inksets that have two blacks.

Mike:

Thank you very much for clarifying that point.
