Placing a Curve on Photoshop Raw File

Placing a Curve on Photoshop Raw File

2011-08-06 by thusband2003

I want to use the UT14 ink set (don't have them yet) with my 1400 and am going over Paul Roark's "Embedding Photoshop Curves in ICCs" procedure. I opened the rgb-raw-16.psd file in CS4 and am trying to place one of the acv curve files on it. Image>Adjust>Curves>Load doesn't seem to be available in CS4 and if I drag and drop or try to open it I get, "could not complete your request because of a program error" message. In fact it or something caused my Win 7 64bit machine to completely crash with a brief message about my graphics card.

What is the proper way to do this? I must be missing something.

Thanks

Maybe I've found my answer. I need to load the curve as a preset right?

Tom,

Yes, load the curve as a "Preset" after clicking on the upper right corner of the curves box.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
