Mis K4 color and epson 1400 ?

2012-03-26 by juliebenoitnina

Hello

I have seen on Paul's site that color with mis K4 was possible with epson R260 : http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/R260-Color.pdf

to some extend, would this be applyable with the same curves with other Claria printers such as epson 1400, epson artisan 50, etc ?

Thanks

Hello Paul and other members of this group

no ideas ?

In the message bellow I was talking of curves, but in fact Paul used an adjustment layer under photoshop.

Have a nice day
Benoit

I suppose the same sort of approach would work for the other Claria printers. Whether the curves or layer I used would be close enough to work without adjustment is unknown. I so still have the underlying curves if they are not already posted.

Today most of the profiling systems have strip readers so that making a profile using them is not so burdensome. As such, I'm quite sure that would be the preferable way to go. My experiment with just neutralizing the grayscale with curves worked OK for casual printing, but the higher gamut colors were not very accurate. My approach was influenced mostly by my desire to have a good neutral zone in the prints, the lack of a strip reader, and the poor quality of the color profile I'd made using manual reading and a 250 patch target.

Good luck with the approach.
