Need Curves for Pictorico Film for HPZ3100

Need Curves for Pictorico Film for HPZ3100

2012-07-19 by john

Does anyone know how I can get started linearizing the OHP film for platinum printing using my Z3100. Yes I know that HP has a curve and preset using the green channel but it won't import into the Z3100. But we're talking about the same printer essentially with the same inks, just different firmware. The negs are great on the Z3200

Somehow I just know someone is doing this with either the Z3100 or the Canon IPF 8300 that is also a possibility for me.

John:
Talk to Dan Burkholder! It's all layed out in his book on "printing on Platinum".

I wrote Burkholder but haven't heard back from him yet.

I think Nelson's system for a $200.00 investment is the way to go for printers other than Epson especially. I could use it for the Canon and the HP. I think HP basically copied his method for using green gray blends for platinum. True Black and White is looking into offering it for their rip also, but that may be awhile yet. If they do offer it, that will be an easy method for the masses as long as you are on a Canon platform.
