Morning Martin,

I second your recommendation, it is some of the best I have ever seen. I
would love to be able to produce some images like that. It is a must see.

| I just added Bill Agee's website http://www.billageestudio.com to the
Bookmarks section of the group homepage. I highly recommend you check it
out. Some of the very finest B&W infrared work I have seen.

I don't know if I necessarily agree... but one thing I don't agree with is charging considerably less for a Glicee print than for a Silver print. He is just minimizing the value of Ink Jet prints which I don't think is a good idea.

I'd have to agree with you on this Jennifer. It gets my goat every time I

It bothers me, too, but then he probably doesn't control his market.
If he's an effective marketer, he charges what the market will bear
in order to sell his prints. I suspect he would charge more for his
inkjet prints if he thought he could get away with it in his market.
It may very well be that charging any more for the inkjet prints
would result in reduced or nonexistent sales.

Until the demand for inkjet prints increases to a point where it
equals or exceeds the demand for silver prints, inkjet prices will in
all likelihood lag silver prices. Granted, there are factors other
than demand that affect pricing, but it is a buyers' market and, with
exceptions, buyers currently tend to place a higher value on silver
prints.

I'm looking forward to the day when this is no longer an issue.

Tom,

It is more likely that silver prints will become more rare and always demand
a higher price. How can the most widely used medium be worth more than a
novelty?

We'll be inkjet pioneers, and as such our work will be worth a fortune. (After we're dead, of course). And assuming any of the current inks
are truly archival.

It seems to me that the most widely used medium will be digital prints and
the silver print will be the novelty in a collector's market. Hey, it's all

I'm sure some of us will be around. I should be. I refuse to assume room temperature until I'm famous.
