Hi I'm ready to buy something to read my results in Black-and-white (and in colour). I already own the Spyder Express to calibrate my display but I'm a n=bit tired of using my scanner for interpretation. I'm looking at the Colour Munki solution. It's fairly priced and I could read my display and my prints. Buying advice anyone? Thanks

The SpyderPrint solution would provide you with editable profiles for color printing, and readings for specialty B&W as well. Talk to a few of the people that use it. C. D. I favor the DataColor Spyder. See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Spectro.pdf It reads the standard 21-step test strips and has an output that is easy to cut and paste into the QTR linearization boxes. The Colour Munki appears to do neither as easily. Well, I have a densitometer, a Spyder and an i1. Each serves a purpose. If you are looking to simply read density, a densitometer is fine. What do you really want to do? I need to read patches in colour and in black-and-white; if I want to make profiles for EB6, I think that I need something more precise than my scanner. Thanks --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "E.Neilsen" <e.neilsen2@...> wrote:

A densitometer won't read colors for ICC profiles, so you can focus on devices that will. The ColorMunki won't let you tune or edit profiles, so the only flexible tool under a thousand dollars would be SpyderPrint. C. D. Tobie Global Product Technology Mngr.
