Need postcard stock and/or ink

Need postcard stock and/or ink

2013-08-18 by Lew Schwartz

I'm trying to print postcards. 3.5 x 5 images on the front, and then hand
stamp the "Postcard, Place postage here", etc .... on the back. I can print
10 at a time on 13x19" Epson proofing paper, but the stamp pad ink never
dries on the back.

I guess I'll have to change papers or stamp pad inks. What does the list
recommend for paper and/or ink?

Hi Len...

Consider printing the 'postage side' also. True...it's not the correct
side on which to print...but I would guess it would work as well as the
hand stamp.

The reverse side is not advertised as printable and I wouldn't want to risk
my precious print heads. Also, I'd have an alignment problem as I print 10
per sheet so the back printing would have to be very exacting for all to
work out.

There shouldn't be any problem printing on the back of the paper and it is very unlikely to put your print heads at risk. You will just have to do a test or two to see what settings you need. The alignment issue shouldn't be too much of a problem either if you think it through. I've done similar things without problems, the main issue was potential damage to the images when the paper did its second pass through the printer. If you go ahead I would print the postage side first.
