Frank,

What paper are you using?

Usually white spots are the result of paper dust on the paper prior to
printing which then fall off once the print is dry. Hahnemuhle William
Turner paper is known to do this but brushing the paper before printing on
it solves the problem.

Check to see if your printer is clean. If it has a lot of paper dust, this
could be the source of your problem.

Thanks Jennifer & Martin - what you're saying would make sense....
because I don't see the specks when the image is first printed, it
only appears a few days later, when I retrieve it and have another
look. And not consistantly either.
I will try and blow off or dust off the paper first. Do you use
any 'tool' in particular for this ?
I've been using Eclipse Satine paper.

What paper are you using... some papers such as Orwell need to be brushed before printing and then an archival interleaving sheet placed over the print to protect it. It tends to 'flake'.

Just the coating peeling off. A lot of very expensive papers have this fault. Be sure to wipe down your papers with a soft cloth before
printing on them.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
