Clay,
You are certainly in part correct.. It is a good thing that we share with a supplier what we are after. Elsewise how would they know.. But in the end it's they that are responsible to run their business. If they fail at doing a proper job then for sure they'll pay the piper for that.. So I'll stick to my statement if that is ok with you..
Their are probably several on this group that have used or been exposed to Pirated software.. this is really not a small item. Software piracy does not decrease or level off as the years go by it has increased... and today it's a major global deal.. If you have a way to stop or curb it..please speak up.. I'm sure their will be a lot of listeners.....but the fact is most really don't care. It's Adobe's problem or AutoDesk's problem....certainly not ours.. From a history standpoint so far this method where they have it in place has really proven to be successful at AutoDesk. It has not eliminated the issue but it's much reduced.. So the results have proven to be positive..
So this business model change that Adobe's going thru has very little to do with product development.. It has to do with to many people in the world are breaking the law and know what? it's not ok.. nor is it someone else's problem..it's your and my problem now too. That's how it is in society today.. A few assholes ran a couple of planes into a few buildings.. they changed the world didn't they.. I really don't like what the system did to the airports.. but I have to keep rowing the boat.. I think it's just time to simply buck up.

Well Jimbo, it depends on how you look at things. In general, as a society we often let things go, perhaps for
the same reason you just stated. But we should remember, and this is certainly true for companies like Adobe --
If we decline to use their new innovations, and let them know why, en masse, then they will quickly learn which products
or methods their customers don't want. The long term success of products, and therefore the company, can be
somewhat steered by us, if we choose to communicate!
