What a concept !!! They've sure been responsive so far. The only thing they seem to resist that almost everyone I've spoken with wants is some way to get a test cart set of new inks... I can see why they wouldn't want to have to stock both bulk and carts of every conceiveable variation, but the commitment to bulk ink isn't just a money one...it's a system commitment for a significant period of time (I guess you could say its always just money, you can toss the ink if you really don't like it, but the reality is you sort of use up all the ink and then try another or stay with it for a system). Long-winded..sorry... Is there some other way we can work with them to get test carts? Or am I missing something? tom --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., "Paul Roark" <paul.roark@v...> wrote: > Mike wrote: > > >ImagePrint 4 ... For some reason or other I was under the impression that MIS had already released a Sepia toned ink set. Thank you, George J Kunze [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Paul, As there have been numerous messages related to MIS not answering emails....can you recommend a good way for us to communicate our interest in the Sepia inks. As I wrote some weeks before...I am interested in Sepia FS and would buy some to try. Steadman

Steadman, I usually find that if I call them after lunch I can get through with little or no problems. Regards, Michael J. Kravit Architect/Photographer Boca Raton, Florida www.kravit.net

This needs the curves just like the standard MIS Vm inkset, and it does not work with the Piezo driver. I have formulated the basic FS/Piezo-compatible cyan-position sepia ink. So anyone can mix a batch of FS-sepia, but MIS is not mixing and selling it at this time. _______ Tom wrote: >[MIS has] sure been responsive so far. And, as you pointed out, the inventory problems would be major. I have heard more than once that MIS has a problem of insufficient space for more inventory. If "bulk" ink were available in 2 oz. or 1 oz. bottles, would you and others be able to fill the carts for testing? I'm just thinking out loud here to see if there is a way around this problem. Any ideas? Paul

Steadman, You wrote: >....can you recommend a good way for us to communicate [to MIS] our >interest in the Sepia inks. While MIS cannot answer all its e-mails, they might look at the subject lines to see what they are about. You -- and others -- can also call the 800 # and ask for it. You could probably have a thread here and make it a de facto petition. MIS's limits appear to be time and space. If they know they have X order for an ink they can mix from existing stock and the formula for which is going to be given to them, why not? Perhaps one way to limit MIS's concerns is if a new, untested mix is called a "beta" ink so that MIS doesn't have to put it through a battery of tests before mixing and selling it. (Frankly, with the sepia mix there isn't much that is going to happen. It's just MIS VM K with some MIS Archival M & Y added.) Again, it seems like if there is sufficient demand, there ought to be a way for MIS to respond to it. Paul
