Subject: [Digital BW] Epson 1520 vs 1280 Printer for B&W: which one to buy?

I'm down to a choice between the Epson 1520 vs the 1280. Prices are
virtually the same. I'm going to dedicate the printer to B&W only and most
likely will use a CIS system. Archival prints are essential.

I'd appreciate views as to which is better for archival B&W printing?

  Thanks for any help.

The 1520 is about 7 year old technology and isn't even in the same ball park quality wise as the photo printers. GO with the 1280 for sure.
Try the MIS Hextone inks, Paul Roark's curves, and a Niagara CIS from mediastreet.com

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
