I get them from photofile-ink.com here in the states. It might be
easier if you get them from Lyson in England, where the home
company is located.

Thanks once more

No, I haven't compared to other inks. I was going to, but when I
tested the Lyson inks, I was so pleased with the print quality,
ease of use, and the ability to print without out all that fussing
with curves/profiles etc. I just decided what was the point and
have been printing away happily ever after. Of particular note, the
Lyson won't clog your heads, and from what I've read from other
users of MIS, the Lyson seems to have a richer deeper black,
which can be a problem with the MIS.
Hope this answers your questions,
Don

Don-

I use Lyson and a number of other inks, mostly MIS FS on a piezo
driver.

The most trouble free consistently good predictable result is the FS
ink and the piezo driver (also prints 2-3x faster).

But the lyson (small gamut mostly) is the best dye ink I have found
and that is what you really need if you want to make BW glossy or
semi glossy prints.

I do find that a lot of mid tones block up on some papers...that
would lead me to believe that profiling is very important with these
inks...there are some primitive profiles available of the Lyson
website for free.

I definitely agree that they never clog (though I have never had an
MID clog either).

Cheers,

Which lyson has the deep blacks, the cold, neutral or warm set, and how blue is the cold set? Available in bulk? costs? Where do you get
them?

I'm using the neutral tone and buying them in bulk 4oz bottles
from Photofile-ink.com for $15.25 ea. I don't know about the
warm tone and cool tone.

Do you see any dot pattern at all, anywhere? and what printer are you using? Would you say the neutral set is really neutral, or is there a
brown/green cast?

Thanks!

I'm printing on the Epson 1200 with a continuous flow system.
Regarding any color casts.....it really depends on the paper you
are using...different papers give different colors. I do notice that it
is very neutral under daylight and sorta on the warmer side
under tungsten light. There are no dots visible....very smooth and
contiuous tone.
