How do I know if a file contains GG-to-QTR?

How do I know if a file contains GG-to-QTR?

It's in tif, right? But a few years ago QTR was modified to accept jpg files as well.

I do this by first opening my b/w photo, a jpg, then opening the QTR tiff file. I then drag the QTR curve, now a visible layer in the layers palette, over to my jpg photo and save that modified jpg to a new name.

Later when I call up the jpg with qtr I cannot see the QTR layer in the layers palette. However if go through this procedure starting with a tif file I can later call it up and see the QTR layer.

I must be doing something wrong now. I hope this is clear!

Thanks all,

Paul W.

(PS I'm using Photoshop Elements 13)

Thanks, Paul, I've done that but I confess I haven't been consistent. Now I'm paying the price!

What's curious is that if I process a tiff file with QTR, I can look at the layer palette and see very plainly the layer containing GG-to-QTR.tiff, but cannot see it in a jpg that i've processed.

Anyway I'll label my files more carefully from now on.
