Bernd,

That is pretty interesting. I also find that the MIS FS is a bit warmer on
the Photo Rag 308. I love it on William Turner and GE. The MIS FS Neutral
on the otherhand is a bit cool for my tastes on Photo Rag, but put it on
William Turner and it is very exciting! Unfortunately I ran out of WT two
weeks ago. I had ordered 10 boxes but it is now a week late. My dealer said
I should have it Monday.

I also tried the MIS FS Neutral on Hawk Mountain Merlin. Merlin is a bit
warmer than H. PR 308 and it looked very nice, although the blacks were
better on the Hahnemuhle papers. I don't know how Hahnemuhle does it, their
blacks are the best.,

Mike et al ( who have tested the new MIS FS Neutral ink):
I have always been satified with the tonal match of MIS FS and
the Hahnemhle German Etching and W. Turner papers, which
are not as brilliant white as EAM but a bit warm.

On the other hand I had a problem with MIS FS and the final
version of Photo Rag. I found MIS SF to warm for this very white
paper and prefered to print on a preliminary version of PR (which
was as warm as GE - but is out of stock now).
Since the advent of FS Neutral ink Im looking forward to trying it
with Photo Rag. Will it be a better match ??

Thanks

Bill,

I buy my paper from a local blueprint/graphics supply house. They sell me 25
sheet boxes of William Turner in 35"x46-3/4" for $275 (Including Shipping) a
box. I order 10 or more boxes as part of a 50 box order with other photogs
and I get $50/ box discount. That is $250/25 sheet box or $10/sht.

Re: [Digital BW] MIS FS vs FS Neutral on H. Photo Rag

2002-03-24 by Martin Wesley

Bernd,

I did some prints with the FS-Neutral on Photo Rag and other Hahnemhle
papers and was not so pleased with the tone. The inks are cool neutral and
they have a very slight bluish tone. Under some light sources they look very
neutral on the Hahnemhle papers but light sources that bring out the blue
are not so pleasing since the paper base is yellow warm and seems to clash.

I am going to try some blends of the two FS inks and will post my results.

Martin,

Have you tried the FS-Neutral on any non-Hahnemuhle papers other than
EAM...like Eclipse or Museo? Are you using the epson or the piezo driver
for these tests?

Robert,

I just hand loaded a cartridge set and did some prints and wedges on EAM and
the H. papers. I am afraid I didn't get around to some of the others. I
think it would do very nicely with Eclipse Satine and Legion Photo Matte
which are neutral and neutral-cool. Museo I don't know.

All were printed with the Piezo software on my 1280.
