7000 on a Mac-PC network

7000 on a Mac-PC network

2002-03-24 by amadiallo2001

I'm a Mac-based user running Piezo on a 1200. I'm considering
a 7000 purchase in the Fall. Although ColorByte has been
promising a Mac version of ImagePrint, there's no fully functional
software for us Apple users. And the fate of Piezo2 is murky, at
best. So if things don't change over the next quarter, I'm looking
at having to buy a PC and run Piezo Pro b/w or a comparable
Windows-based RIP.

How easy or difficult is using a networked PC as a print server?
I'd like to edit in PS on the Mac as usual, hit print (or export) and
send the file on it's merry way to the PC. Is this possible, or will I
need to print the image in a Windows environment? Are there
other options for keeping an all-Mac setup? "All" I want is Piezo
inks and image quality, on a wide format printer, w/o crossing
over to the "dark side" :-)
