When I was using piezo, I couldn't do anything else until the print was finished. I don't know if it's still the case.

PS does tie up Photoshop but it does not tie up the machine. Under OS X and
PS7 the situation is no different, except that the multitasking and
backgrounding is handled more gracefully so you can work more easily in
other applications. I'm assuming Piezo will work normally with PS7 but until
the code is recompiled/rewritten for OSX it will only work with PS7 running
in classic mode.

Because the Piezo plugin addresses the printer directly, you can't use
another machine as a piezo print server, whatever its processor and OS.

I think Piezo Pro has a standalone printing app, which would be a godsend
for the rest of us, but I'm not holding my breath.

On XP or win2K, when you export through Piezo the file is spooled. After a
minute or two you can continue to use Photoshop. You can even spool several
prints and keep working. I once had two win98 machines hooked up with the
beater dedicated to printing to a 3000, and it didn't even have Photoshop on
it. You could send the file out of Pizeo, to the shared network printer, and
continue to work in Photoshop. I can't understand why this would be so
difficult to manage on the mac platform. Is it just a matter of Conetech
writing an os X driver? It wouldn't take an army of programmers to do that.
Surely os X, built on bsd, could manage.
