Also, by crv08 being great, how do you weight that? i.e. tone is better, density steps more even, whatever. And how warm is it wrt Paul's four curves? Jim, I haven't experimented enough to be definitive, but it appears that it makes no difference whether I'm in AdobeRGB or sRGB. As far as paper selection goes, it does seem to matter. So far, following Paul's suggestion for "photo paper" with his curves seems to work best and selecting "matte paper-heavyweight" with Tyler's seems to work best. This is all on Photo Rag and ESFA. Please keep in mind this is very preliminary and I'd sure like to hear from any others here who are doing any comparisons between the two sets of curves. By "great" I simply mean that it is extremely smooth. The smoothest print I've made to date is with Tyler's crv08 (but that's not saying much actually <G>), and it didn't require as much adjustment to get there. Maybe I was just lucky, but I don't think so. As far as warmth, the crv08 is just a little warmer than Paul's NC13 that I was comparing it against. I've downloaded Paul's newer curves, but haven't compared them yet. On a small photo restoration project, the Tyler crv08 clearly showed better definition in the shadows than Paul's NC13 curve on Photo Rag, but then Tyler's curves were made for this paper. Tom
