I'm currently using the Cone Piezo B&W ink cartridges in my Epson 1200. I would like to try the MIS FS inks in cartridge form (will continue using the Piezo software). Does anyone know if I will need to flush the Piezo ink before using the new MIS cartridges? I'd appreciate any recommendations based on your experience. Thanks, David Cook

David, I did exactly what you have planned. You do not need to flush the piezo inks. I bought bulk FS inks, several virgin cartridges and the vacuum refill bits and pieces from the MIS. I had a little trouble with the bottom filling technique but have had none with the vacuum fill technique. The prints look great and the piezo system and paper profiles work fine with the new inks. Thanks for the info Kevin. I'll look forward to trying the MIS FS inks (and the lower costs!) What version is your Piezo Driver? I'm using 6.0.2 - and Epson Archival Matte is profiled, and works very well... but, maybe this version is the first to have it?? Hi, I have the MIS FS Ink (not the latest- neutral) and Cone's Piezo Driver for the 1160/3000. I am not sure what setting to use in the Piezo Driver and Epson Archival Matte paper I have set the ink type to Piezo and the Paper to unsupported, and latterly, Epson Inkjet. However I am getting some very prints with very strong contrast. I know its not the inks because when I apply John Woolfe's curve I get a good result. I was therefore wondering what settings others were using with the Piezo driver. I have the Epson driver set to - No color adjustment, Color ink, 1440 dpi and heavy weight matte, and all all the files sent are in grayscale. Can anyone recommend a paper type for Epson Archival Matte for Cone's driver ? Is the "unsupported" type the best for Espon Archival Matte ? Thanks very much for any advice. Josh Smith

Josh, I use this combo exactly as if it were Cone's inks, set for Epson
Archival Matte and Piezo ink. The latest version lists the Epson Archival
Matte paper profile. Sounds like you may be using the older version.
