August Print exchange

Hi all-

I guess I brought this on myself...I'm starting to get emails signing 
up for the August exchange (flower theme), so I might as well post 
the info sheet and accept them:

August - Flower Theme - Print Exchange data sheet

* Sign up will be limited to the first 15. 

* Prints must arrive on West Coast U.S. by August 5. 

* Unless we find it is impossible from the country of origin (or 
Piggly Wiggly Stores), shipping should include a prepaid return 
shipping voucher/label (and container if the original cannot be 
reused...I have found that most originals cannot). I will work with 
anyone who really has a problem with this, but this really is what is 
making the monthly exchange work.  I strongly prefer Fedex, but UPS 
is fine, too if you include the shipping label. Prints will get 
redelivered in order of ease of delivery..i.e. not sure when I can 
get time off to stand in line at the Post Office.)

* Prints will be BOTH Letter and A4. This is a shipping challenge. It 
is imperative that all prints be shipped in a container that will 
accomodate BOTH SIZES of paper since the return will include both 
sizes. The MEDIUM Fedex box fits the SMALL Fedex Box inside for very 
easy return and the SMALL BOX neatly holds both sizes of print ... 
maybe add a little tissue or newspaper for protection. This would be 
the method STRONGLY PREFERRED for quick easy turnaround. Sending 
prints in the manufacturer's paper box WILL NOT WORK... A4 will not 
fit in letter, nor will letter fit in A4.

holders with a description sheet facing the back (for sorting). These 
are available from many sources, small quantities are for sale at 
inkjetart.com... larger quantities all over the internet. The 
description should include at least: Print title, your name, shooting 
data, printing data. At a minimum this should include printer, 
inkset, software (including print driver/software). Any comments or 
stories on workflow would be very interesting and welcome.

* THE THEME...FLOWERS THEME... wide open for your interpretation....

* After I receive 15 signups, I will post a "closed" on the forum, 
but will continue to take names for a waiting list, just in case we 
have a "drop out" or "no show" but I will not enlarge past the 15 
level so those who chose to can print early and mail them off.

like them, then they ARE mine <g>).

SO I CAN SET UP AN EMAIL LIST, PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL AND LIST 
YOUR NAME, ADDRESS AND EMAIL ADDRESS.


I will send out most updates via email rather than junk up the BWdigi 
list which means others in this exchange will have access to your 
email address (let me know if that is a problem and I will hide your 
address).


This month is a theme month... FLOWER THEME... Any photo should 
include a flower. Please include a description sheet with some 
interesting info on the image.



****NEW****  I have established a Yahoo Group for posting our monthly 
exchange photos and carrying on post exchange discussions. Please 
post a file with your image in the August folder (click on the PHOTO 
link in the left navigation bar, check the AUGUST box, click ADD 
PHOTO, follow the prompts to name it and upload it from your hard 
drive.

Hi,

I'd like to participate in this print exchange, but I don't have the
means to produce quality inkjet prints yet. I was wondering if I could
submit silver prints instead (on fiber base paper, toned in selenium
or gold). It might be interesting to have a silver print for comparison??

If this is acceptable, it would be a great favor to be included.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
