Not sized correctly.

Not sized correctly.

I printed a 16 x 20 inch print of my 3000. Instead of the image being
20 inches it is 19 5/8. Can this shortage be linked to the removal of
the pizza wheels?

My 3000 is about 1/32 off at the 16x20 size. I think there is a good chance
your 3000 will band with a stepper motor or transport system that is off by
3/8. Does it?

Theres a long list of "issues" related to the 3000 sheet feed.
Quite a few a listed on the piezo support area.

The basic list:

Tensioning springs are too loose
The platen is mis-adjusted
The roller is worn and dry
The thickness adjustment is set incorrectly

Pizza wheels are usually not the problem.

Different paper surfaces act differently.
Different feed methods act differently.
a. front feed
b. rear feed thru slot
c. rear feed straight path
Different thickness setting act differently.

Thanks
Bob

Although most of us love our 3000s, they are notorious for having paper feed
and transport problems. You've encountered one of those problems. I usually
print non-standard sizes and don't worry about the shortened prints. If it's
critical, I guess you can resize the longitudinal dimension before sending
the print to the printer.

You have a bad 3000 printer. This will lead to banding problems and
paper feed problems. Someone on one of the lists mentioned there is a
repair or replacement kit that you can install that will fix it. Has to
do with spring tensions. I think it was offered by Jon Cone.
