Using Epson Driver and Cone Inks

Using Epson Driver and Cone Inks

2001-08-23 by BMercerTX@aol.com

I'm new to using 1160 with Cone CIS. One of the things that has bothered me
although I am still so new I haven't had time to explore it yet, is how I
could combine images and text since in order to print a image, it had to be
exported thru the Piezography software and I wasn't sure but it didn't seem
like I could combine it with a publishing program. If I am using Paul's
curves with the Epson driver and cone inks on the 1160, will I be able to use
Pagemaker to publish image with text in say a brochure or a mini-portfolio
for PR or even with a small book?

Billie,
you should distinguish between the "old" P. Roark curves, which
he has created to print piezo inks through the Epson driver and
his "new" curves for his variable mix ink set.
I think his new curves won´t work with the piezo inks.

As the Full Spectrum inks with J. Woolf workflow and Epson
Driver may lead to the same results as Piezo inks with the Piezo
driver - it should go vice versa if you apply an reciproke Woolf
curve for printing with piezo inks and Epson driver, no?

Just a thought, did anyone try this ?
I will do it, if I find some minutes.

Bernd

Billie,

Photoshop 6 will open Adobe Acrobat PDF files as raster images. You
could do your page layout there. Perhaps you can export the Pagemaker
files to Acrobat and then open it in Photoshop.

Might want to just leave blank areas for your photos and then cut and
paste them in after bringing in the page layout.
