I use an Apple 15" LCD as my primary display. I really like it, most
of the time.
I do think it's a little hard to use for color correction, as image
characteristics change some depending on viewing angle. There is a
version of the Spyder that's designed for LCD monitors, which I have
been saving up for, perhaps that will help.
In terms of resolution, contrast, sharpness, glare, I think the LCD is
truly amazing. (Well, what I mean is that for the same resolution, I
like the look of the LCD better - my CRT can handle higher resolutions
than the CRT tho) I can't really speak to gamut as I don't have a good
eye for that. It's color fidelity and calibration that I would worry
about in buying an LCD, but the calibration device _might_ mitigate
that, we'll see.
