A strike below the belt.

A strike below the belt.

2002-05-09 by mkravit

Folks,

Well I would like to than the person who called the Palm Beach
Photographic Center and complained that I have bad mouthed IJM and
George DeWolfe here on the list. I had to provide the director with
copies of all posts to prove that I did nothing of the sort.

As the VP of the Center, I can not tolerate having anything done
that will place the facility in a tenuous position. So those people
that have been calling Jon Cone and others reporting back everything
that is said here are due a round of applause.

Our centre rund workshops and programs for abused and at-risk
children as a not-for-profit organization. Nothing can or will
interfere with that.

So I must not back away from this list. I will try to help people
that need help provately, but I will not be publicly visible. It is
unfortunate that Antonis and Martin created this list to help
advance that state of teh art, but certain people have decided to
shoot the messengers.

Enjoy and keep on printing.

A strike below the belt.

I'm assuming that Brian's reaction to Mike Kravit's comments and the actions
in Palm Beach that have caused Mike to back away from this group were merely
coincidental.

However, both Brian's uncivil comments and the cowardly actions on the part
of (apparently) some member(s) of this group to discredit Mike are
unbelievable.

We're exchanging ideas, opinions and information here. Sure, it's important
stuff (more or less), but it's not worth throwing tantrums on the list or
trying to sabotage a member's activities outside the list. Give me a break.
Life is way too short for this kind of crap, but then there's always
somebody out there trying to lower our standards a notch or two.

I don't know Mike personally, but I've learned a great deal from his
contributions to this group. I've appreciated his willingness to share his
knowledge, perspective, and expertise with us and I'll miss that.

Tom,

I will be glad to help people, but I will bow out when the discussions
become politically charged in nature.
I also believe that these two situations are separate and distinct. I
know who called the center and exactly what was said. I will not
publicly disclose that info as the individual is a highly visible
photographic personality who does a great amount to forward the art.

Take care
Mike
