I didn't see the question I posed in the last post, so I'll try again. Please
excuse me if this is redundant to some of you, but the post came in blank to
me.
Does anyone know if one must use multiple dongles when using the pro 24 piezo
rip if printing on more than one printer?
I obviously don't know anything about dongles, so please pardon me, but if
the Pro 24 if being advertised as useful for multiprinting, then must one
order as many dongles as one has printers?
Thanks in advance,
George J Kunze

George,

I know the answer.

The dongle is only necessary to run the software and not the
printers. One purchase of PiezographyBW Pro allows you to print
to as many printers as you have ports. You assign printers to
ports such as Ethernet or USB or Serial. The software allows
itself to be opened multiple times. You select a different printer
each time. It ships with profiles for all the desktop and large
format printers.

Will the same version of the software run both a 9000 and a 7000? I noticed
that there is different pricing for these two machines. Does a copy of the
desktop piezo (6.01) come with the pro software, or do you have to purchase
that separately? It's my understanding that the pro product only runs the
wide format printers...is this correct?

hi Robert,

The Pro software can print to ALL the supported printers. Supported printers
(of the Pro product) now include:
7000, 7500, 9000, 9500, 980, 1160, 1200, 1280/1290 etc.

The price difference between the two products you mention is merely down to
the size of the carts that are supplied with the system. As with other areas
of 3rd-party inks, the 9000-size carts can be used on the 7000.

Hope this helps,

nij

Robert,

You do not get a copy of the plugin with it. The desktop printers
are all supported by the Pro versions and always have been (at
least as long as I have been running it.) The Pro version has all
of the large format and medium format and desktop printer
drivers in it. The difference in price is that the full kits have 6
flushing cartridges, 6 ink cartridges and 25 sheets or so of
paper. The 9000 carts cost more than the 7000 carts and so the
kit reflects that.

It installs all the profiles for all the printers but only shows you
profiles for the printer you select and open a printer port for. So
when I open the app for a 3000, I get the 3000 profiles. For a
1160 I get 1160 profiles and so on. For the big EPSONs you get
their profiles.
