ImagePrint 4 and MIS VM

ImagePrint 4 and MIS VM

2002-05-10 by ruhrfoto

On their website the Colorbyte company claims to support MIS
FS a n d MIS VM quadtone printing.
Is anybody using the MIS VM option on any printer, and if yes,
where did he get the specific software/profiles??
And not to forget: how are the results?
Background: I´m running my 7500 with IP4 and MIS FS but have
a 1290 loaded with a CIS and MIS VM. Would like to compare
the Roark Curves with the IP4 RIP.

I talked with Colorbyte this week. They are still working on the VM...I
don't believe its done yet...but when it is...I believe it will require a
software upgrade (not just more profiles)...because the last time I heard it
would involve a slider bar in the driver much like what is supposed to be
the "gray balancer" in the new epson printer drivers (2200/7600/9600). You
will load the VM inks and then be able to range from the cool to the warm
end of the spectrum for that ink set by just moving the slider...so no
applying curves in photoshop will be necessary. The profiles will simply
make sure you are using the optimum ink delivery for a given paper/ink
combination.

Do you have any idea on price for this software? It sounds very promising.

Thanks,
Doug

$500 for 1270/1280/1290
$1500 for 7000/7500

Not sure about 3000 and 9000 class machines.

Those prices are for a single printer. Additional printers are a small
additional charge for extra dongles.
