somewhat OT: how to ship a printer with CFS installed?

somewhat OT: how to ship a printer with CFS installed?

I've sold my Photo EX with an MIS CFS but have been wondering how
practical it's going to be to ship that way. I was thinking there
might be a way to plug the ends of the tubes perhaps? Has anyone ever
done anything like this?

Be seeing you...

I did this with a CIS nomorecarts, but you can try it with the MIS
tubing:

get a set of EZ-Plugs from nomorecarts distributer. Or use an old
cracked one if you have it. You will need a six pin version for a six
tube CFS, four for a four tube CFS, etc...

Get a set of bottle caps with no holes in top.

Pinch a tube off and remove from bottle. Run the end of tubing under
fairly warm water for awhile. After a minite or two, if the CFS tubing
is like the CIS tubing, the little metal pin in the plastic base fits
right in to the tube. As the tube cools, it seals tight and you can
remove the pincher.

Repeat for the rest of tubing, washing excess ink off as you warm the
tubes under warm water. Seal the bottles with the caps.

The MIS rivets are too big to fit in the tubes...use the $15 EZ-Plugs.
Or go to hardware store and buy smaller rivits or a metal rod maybe..

That's brilliant...so simple it's no wonder it never occurred to me.
Thanks for the tip.
