Transporting Epson 860

My primary photographic efforts these days are covering my daughter at horse shows where she participates in hunter/jumper events. I'm trying the switch to digital after years of using film, and in the process have acquired two Epson 860 printers, one of which I use for B&W output and the other for contact sheets and the occasional color print. I'd like to take along the color printer when I go to a horse show, in order to be able to at least print out contact sheets as we go through a weekend. I dump images off the camera from time to time throughout the day, as breaks occur, so as to leave as much room on the memory cards as possible at any given time. Once in the computer I can produce contact sheet output pretty quickly with the software I have, which gives a good idea of the coverage I've gotten so far during the weekend. I have a sturdy case (actually, it's nearly bullet proof - very solid) that will protect the printer in the car, but I'm wondering if any of you have experience moving one of these printers on a regular basis? I assume it should be packed so that it's flat, not standing on an edge. I also assume there's nothing much to be done about the ink except to be sure that the carriage is parked (which it does when you turn the printer off.) Are there any other things I ought to be aware of? Or strong reasons not to move the thing at all? Thanks for any thoughts. Cheers, Kip Babington
