Digital BW, The Print

Paul, just started using the VM and your curves on the 1200 epson on 
a PC with Brightcube semi-matte and found if I use Vivid mode and the 
nc curve the midtones and highlights are great but the deep shadows 
go extreamly dark. If I use the Photorealistic mod shadows are good, 
midtones and highlight  a tadd light. I can compensate for that with 
the levels adj. I have a nice gradient in the sky area that prints 
great with NC curve. If I use the MW curve and Photorealistic the 
gradient all but disappears. If I use the vivid and MW the gradient 
is good but the shadows again go extreamly dark. Using vivid mode as 
you suggest in your workflow seems to kill and detail. I am wondering 
if it is the paper or something I am doing. Any suggestions will be 
greatly appreciated.
