PiezoTones on the 7000 (piezoPro) vs 1160 (plug-in)

PiezoTones on the 7000 (piezoPro) vs 1160 (plug-in)

2002-06-18 by antonisphoto

I have uploaded an Excel document comparing the gray values obtained from
a 7000 driven by PiezoPro software vs the 1160 with the latest plug in. The
1160 is measured with both old and new inks. All tests are done on Photo Rag
188.

The dmax obtained with the piezoPro driver is 1.86. This is significantly higher
than the 1.79 from the 1160 (same from the 1280, which is not shown in this
document).

As far as I know, the 1.86 is currently the one to beat for any drivers or
workflows that still allow for good shadow separation.

Antonis,

Well that's good to know. Good thing nothing spilled on the test prints
or it could have put the PT's in last place...
