Hi, MIS Variable tone inks has NO green cast at all. The Blue toner is in the magenta position (The ink in the magenta position is very blue), so it CAN move along the magenta/green axis. Move the slider towards magenta to get more blue tones, move it towards green to get more BROWN tones, NOT green. > You can get beautiful tones with Lyson small gamut, but they're very expensive, not available in bulk, and you will MIS variable seems > promising , but I`m not sure > if pigment based ink will give me deep blacks while > printed on glossy paper ... Nope, it won't. None will. Use Matte paper! > > And I\ufffdm bit nervous while reading some posts that MIS > ( I don`t know if this concerns also variable ink ) is even > "greener" then Piezo . It goes from brown to blue. > I like MIS price and it is available ( i think ) for my spare printers > ( EX and 1200 ) . > Shall I start with it or should I go for SmallGamut with > a new 1160 ? Small gamut is very expensive, and you'll see the dots. Jerry
