I need to unsubscribe

I need to unsubscribe

2002-07-06 by lady galadriel

Dear Photoists,

I received 30 emails regarding the topics voiced in this group. That is, 30 in one day. I really do not want to receive that kind of email onslaught. I simply want to show my prints. If anyone is interested in responding or replying about them, fine. But, so far, I haven't even put anything up for any of you to see. Instead, I am getting email about prints I haven't even seen nor commented on. Odd, I think, to receive all these emails as though I need to hear from everyone about their opinions about stuff I haven't even seen.

Please take me off your lists, and respond only if you are interested and if I ask. Otherwise, I will consider it spam. Thank you.

Kindest regards,

Christin

Dear Steadman,
If you received any emails from me, it was sent to you by others in the group. I guess I guess I have made my point and I am sorry others are unloading my email on you. I don't want that either. Can you dig it?
Ironic? Not at all. It simply proved my point. If you received the email 6 times, perhaps it's because I received an email from you 6 times. How about that? Like I said, I don't even have any prints up yet.
Isn't that what this site is about to begin with? Feedback on our work from others? Giving feedback to others when asking for it? Feedback about development, film, digital and cameras and mediums used? Flash vs no flash? Aperture? Etc., etc.? No? Well, perhaps I made a mistake then, and I am at the wrong site. It just seems odd to get email from a bunch of different people and you don't even know what they are talking about. You were never part of the original conversation, and it is just unexpected, and more than I can handle.

Madam, you may be happier over at SeePhoto, also a Yahoo group,
overseen by Godfrey DiGiorgi. The discussion there tends more to be
about photographs and how to take them than the intricacies of
printing B&W photos by digital means. It is also a lower volume list
than this one.

Forgive me if you get this twice, as I don't know if you've
unsubscribed from the list.

Sincerely,

Tim Spragens

Vinny,
Just intall Norton Internet Security and enable "Ad Blocking",
that's it. No more yahoo ads or Pop up's.
To me it's worth every penny to stop Ads

Re: [Digital BW] I need to unsubscribe

2002-07-07 by lady galadriel

Dear Barry,
Yes, I whined, but I just didn't understand and I freaked when I received all the emails. No offense was intended. Plus, though I read the subscription page, I suppose my external life outside the internet probably distracted me from a few little factors in the subscription.....one of them being this child in the photo. It is because of her that I thought this group might be helpful. You could say she is my muse, and with my computer as the "developer," I have been having a lot of fun taking quick digital photos in all sorts of backgrounds and lighting.
Naturally, I love B+W, but am not nearly as involved in all the photo details and developing methods as the rest of you. I can see how helpful this group can be, but it might be too much for my busy schedule. As it is, I barely have time for this, but am willing to respond to clear up any misunderstanding. I would be very happy to drop in from time to time, and maybe someday I can be of help. Photography has been a great love of mine since 1971, when I had my first job as a photographer, working with B+W picture postcards, developing and presenting them on an easel. It's a great medium.
If you are amenable, check out a prescanned photo to see what I mean. Thanks.
Best regards,
Christin

-Christan,
Thanks for the post. I have been in the same situation as you in the
past, to many emails from a accidently subscribed list, still I hope
all is well now.
I love post cards, I used to live in Weston Super Mare, home of many
great cards, not allways considered works of art by all.
This group is very helpful if you need to know anything about B/W
printing on a injet. I have learned all I know from it. You will
find that Piezo printing to be a quantum leap forward from the B/W
traditional darkroom.

I do not have a lot of my B/w work online, but if you care to visit:-
http://www.barrytheguide.com/Pages/D1Photos/index.htm
You will see a small sample of my work, some of which is B/W infra-
red.
