I got mine at buy.com, best price I could find at the time, you might want
to try dealtime.com and look around for some prices though too. Good luck.

Does anyone have any good ideas of where to get a 1280 for a good price?

I would put honesty and integrity before price, however.

Jerry

List price is down to $499..

I got a refurbed 1270 from refurbdepot.com for about $279.. (now $299)
and was quite pleased.. Couldn't tell it from new.. They have 1280s as
well for $419 at the moment..

If I remember correctly, I picked up a 1280 there as well, with nary a
problem..

They had some negative ratings in on-line reviews about a year or two
back and when I placed my orders I held my breath.. Apparently,
whatever issues they had with late deliveries etc. were dealt with when
they redid the way they were taking orders and changed the staff
handling the actual order placement process..

Keith

Keith, I've found the 1280 new for $419 at many stores, about a dozen,
they go from that to over $500. Trouble is, I've never heard of any of
the stores that sell them cheap, and I do NOT want to buy from someone
who isn't 100 percent honest and above board. One of the Mac stores has
it for $459, so I guess I'll try them.
