Jim,
I did not detatch the print head....far too technical for my head. I was
just putting Fantastic on the sponge where the print head rests.

Had not thought about the Piezo driver being more demanding so I will keep my
fingers crossed.

I don't think you'll have any problems then, since you didn't remove
head. In a normal 1160, it was rare that the latest piezo driver gave
microbanding, etc.

Jim,
My driver is still the V5.?. I haven't d/led the new one because I wasn't
printing and now I hesitate to do it because I was getting good prints
without banding before the blank nozzle problem and I hate to add another
alternative/possible problem to the printing until I see if I can get these
13 prints out the door.

Billie the latest driver has a more forgiving dither - it seems to be easier
on the printer.

Don't worry about that either. I never upgraded beyond that to ver 6
and all of the banding/screen door problems were out by the latest ver
5 release. Version 6 gave 16 bit printing capability, some page
placement options, and added 1280 support if memory serves.
You could check to be sure you have the latest ver 5, it should be
free.
