Well It was banding with the mis 1270 inks in it. But it has printed
better. Now these bands are barely visable to the naked eye. You really
got to look close to see them. I was hoping that changing inks would
help it.
Thanks for the reply
Randy

Randy,

If you have done the best you can with the alignment and cleaning off
the business end of the head, then you may just have a printer that
has a marginal paper feed. My 1200 is like that with Piezo. No amount
of aligning and cleaning ever completely removed the very fine lines
I see in smooth tonal areas. These are not noticeable at normal
viewing distances.

With the new 1280 in smooth tonal areas under magnification I can
tell which direction the head travel was in by a very subtle texture.
You really have to use a loupe to see this and look very closely.
None of this can be seen in normal viewing and is not a concern.

If you are seeing the pattern you described at normal viewing
distances you may want to try and get an exchange from Epson under
warranty if you can.

Martin

Thanks for the help, I will check this out in a few days. I never
thought about the paper feed (DUH). Very heavy shooting schedule right
now.
