Digital BW, The Print

I am wondering if there is a workaround to get the status monitor visible 
under Windows 2000 for the Epson 3000/1520.  It was visible under Win 98.  
Epson says that these printers do not use the status monitor on their W2000 
driver download page.  Thanks.
