New August 13x19 Print Exchange
2002-08-07 by Martin Wesley
Hi, I have joined a new 13x19 print exchange group that is being run by Keith Krebs and Inkjetgoodies. There are still openings but they are going fast. Not many people are willing to run exchanges at this print size so get in touch with him soon. Below is the information about the exchange. Martin Wesley http://www.borderless-photos.de/guests.html _________________________________________________________________________________ I would like to personally invite fine print makers to participate in a brand new Quarterly (as in 4 times annually) A3 / 13" x 19" print exchange.. Co-sponsored by the EPSON x7x List and InkjetGoodies.com, and graciously hosted by InkJetGoddies.com If you aren't familiar with a print exchange, here are more specifics and details. We feel that the sharing of our art, ideas, and the display of expert craftsmanship is extremely important for further artistic development, and the growth of the medium. Our print exchanges include up to 15 people. Each person makes 15 prints of the same image and sends them to us in a re-shippable container. We sort the prints so that everybody gets a print from each other member of the group. We then ship each set back to the members of the group. We pay for the return shipping. Requirements: 1- Prints must be made using one of the following media: a.. Archival inkjet, acceptable prints must be made using archival inks and papers (Canon inkjet prints will, for now, be accepted using OEM inks and archival papers - however, Lyson Lysonic or other more archival inksets will be required at a future point) b.. Silver gelatin must be archivally processed on fiber based paper c.. Alternative Process such as Platinum, Palladium, Cyanotype, VanDyke, Gum Print, etc... 2- Prints must be made on a paper size of 13x19. Actual image size must be a minimum of 8x12 or (96 square inches for odd sized originals). 3- Shipping containers must be able to fit 13x19 papers, and must be re-shippable. We will pay for the return postage, so please help us with the correct size boxes. 4- If you would like your print to be included in the Exchange Gallery, please include a letter with your prints giving us permission to post the image, and a .jpeg of the image. 5- Have Fun! Our print exchanges are meant to be fun, so if your stressing out -- relax, enjoy it! 6- Please include an additional typed sheet or card with each print that describes the processes used, the materials, and how the original image was created (this is about cross-pollination). Our first quarterly A3 / 13x19 exchange has a print deadline (i.e. in-hand to InkJetGoodies) of 30 August 2002. After that, exchanges will proceed once every 3 months. (dates were chosen to avoid the Winter Holiday rush) For those of you who know me via the internet already, I have committed to personally participating in the first four exchanges (I feel that those who have come to know me at least deserve a chance to take shots at my work). I have also committed to using different inksets for each of the first four exchanges, to increase the varieties of work materials participants will be exposed to. How do you sign up? Well, DON'T just mail in prints, you need to reserve a place... Send an email to: printexchange@... And, in case you wonder what prints from my own prints as tendered for other print exchanges have looked like, for those interested, I can send you small JPEGs representing prints I submitted to the last three exchanges I have participated in. Additionally, you may see images from Tom O'Connell's unassociated exchange (which I might also heartily recommend) at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBW-PrintExchanges/ If you want more information, you can e-mail: printexchange@... Thanks, hope to see some awesome work! Keith [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
