It depends on what you are driving. I had a inexpensive UMAX scanner 
that required a power hub just to drive it with a six foot cable. It 
depends on the reciever in the device you are driving and the bit rate 
you are transmitting.  The 6 1/2 feet is the spec that has to be met. 
You can get away with better and with a power hub you can get away with 
a lot more.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
