Ink on back of paper

All, Just completing a large print job for cards and noticed (a little too late) that the backs of the cards (inside, non print side) have an "ink line" or track marks (drag marks?)from residual ink build up on the printer sponge. I'm using the 1280. Is there a quick remedy or should I just let it dry overnight? Anyone have any experience with ink build up in the sponge just below the paper transport on the 1280? What's with this? Normal OP or I'm the lucky test subject. Thanks for your advice. Barry Gilliand
